This 5-Day Marrakech Desert Trip in Erg Chebbi allows you to visit the southern towns and villages of the Moroccan Sahara Desert. You will also be shown around the High Atlas Mountains and the sand dunes of Merzouga and Erg Chebbi.

On the first day of the Marrakech Desert Trip, we’ll pick you up from your hotel in Marrakech and take you to Ait Benhaddou over the mountains of the High Atlas passing through the Tizi N’tichka pass (2260 m in altitude). You will have a lunch break in a nearby restaurant.
In the afternoon, we will drive to Ouarzazate and stop near the Atlas film studios for photos. Then, we continue to the city center for a panoramic view of the Kasbah of Taourirt. After that, you will head to Kalaa M’gouna or Boumalne du Dades for the night. Dinner will be served at your hotel.
After breakfast in the hotel, we drive towards Tineghir passing by Boumalne du Dades, and stop for a panoramic view of Dades valley. Later on, we will continue to Todra gorges via Imider and Tineghir, stopping along the way for photos and admiring the views.
Arrive at Todra Gorges to enjoy its marvelous canyon views while hiking on foot. In the afternoon, we continue to Tinejdad and have a break for lunch. Then, we go to Erfoud where you will visit a local fossil craft workshop. After that, you will continue to the captivating dunes of Erg Chebbi.
Arrive at the hotel and get ready for a camel trek for an hour and a half to enjoy the sunset. While on the back of your dromedary, you will continue to the camp for an overnight stay in a traditional nomad tent. You have dinner and spend the night in a bivouac in the middle of the dunes.
Wake up early morning to enjoy the sunrise on the top of the dunes in the Sahara Desert then have your breakfast. After these beautiful moments, you will ride your camel back to the hotel where you can shower.
You will have a tour of the dunes on 4×4 allowing you to visit the black volcanic rocks of fossils, a nomad family living in a tent, Khamlia village and their spiritual music of Gnawa, and the lake Dayte Sarji that forms in springtime which attract pink flamingos and wildlife.
Then, you will have a break for lunch in Merzouga or Hassi Labied. Later, you will see the canal irrigation system and have a walk on the oasis located at the foot of the dunes. Continue to your hotel to take a shower, have dinner, and sleep for the night.
Our crew and you will get up early in the morning to see the sunrise from the top of a dune in the Sahara Desert, followed by breakfast. Following these magnificent moments, you will ride your camel back to the hotel to shower. Later, we’ll return to Ouarzazate via Rissani, Alnif, N’kob, and Agdz.
You will have time to visit the Rissani souk before driving to Alnif, the home of the trilobite. We then proceed to N’kob for lunch. We drive to Agdz and stop to see the Kasbah of Tamnaugalt, which is located in the Daraa Valley’s palm trees. Later, we’ll traverse the Ait Saoun Mountains to go to Ouarzazate. Dinner and a stay at a hotel are included.
After breakfast at the hotel, you will have time to visit the Kasbah of Taourirt and then another photo stop near the Atlas film studios. After that, you will stop for lunch in a local restaurant near the Ait Benhaddou village.
In the afternoon, we will stop by the Kasbah of Telouet. Then, we continue to the red city of Marrakech over the mountains of the High Atlas passing through the Tizi N’tichka pass (2260 m in altitude). Once we arrive in Marrakech, we’ll drop you off at your accommodation. That ends our Marrakech Desert Trip.
